Here's a recap of what was a wonderful summer vacation, which included trips to Hong Kong, Macau, Matsuyama, Innoshima, Tsunoshima beach and Hiroshima. Got to meet and hang out with a lot of great people in what was one of the best summers of my life! Here are some pics.
By now this blog post is getting pretty long, so it goes! I want to introduce the section that will comprise the meat of my portfolio, "Environment Assets." Here I will be posting my learning process and finished work directed towards high resolution environment modelling, texturing and rendering for film, games, or architectural productions.
To start with, these are some high poly assets I created as part of a learning process, getting down and dirty with Zbrush and Marmoset Toolbag 2. I modeled everything in 3dsMax and Zbrush and rendered the assets in Marmoset Toolbag 2. I the flexibility and speed Marmoset Toolbag gives the artist, without getting too technical. Having struggled with vRay for a while, it was a breeze the learn MT2. The point of this process is to render the environment assets in a presentable way for approval. I had a lot of fun getting into creating my own brush presets to create convincing stone models. This was also one of the first scenes I've made that has included this number of assets, and it was great to know exactly how much my hardworking computer can manage <3
Towards the end I decided to add a little Game of Thrones flare to the ruins by adding the Stark House Sigil to some of the stones.
